Features a compact Small Cap High Energy Ignition distributor design for Chevy 327 and 350 engines.
This distributor comes with a red coil as part of the package.
Designed to be positioned beneath the exhaust for Chevy 327 and 350 engine configurations.

This is a HEI distributor designed for Chevy 327 and 350 engines, complete with a red coil and 8.5mm wires suitable for installation under the exhaust. It is compatible with small block engines including Chevy 265, 283, 305, 307, 327, 350, 383, and 400. The distributor outputs 45,000 volts, operates on 12 volts, and comes with a package that includes one HEI distributor, one ignition coil, and ten wires, as shown in the picture.

The small cap facilitates straightforward firewall, particularly for models made before 1975 that may lack space for a larger HEI. It features an OEM appearance (also available with a female cap). The unit is completely CNC machined. It is a fully self-contained distributor with an integrated module, requiring only a 12-volt external coil for electronic ignition (standard points coils are not compatible). No ballast resistor is necessary. It offers a simple two-wire connection (wires are included).

This system is similar to the late GM HEI but utilizes an external coil rather than an in-cap coil. It removes the requirement for additional wiring and ballast resistors. There is a significant enhancement in starting and performance compared to points. It features a built-in GM-style module (not manufactured by GM). The spark plug gap can be adjusted between approximately 40-45 instead of 35 when using points. It has the same dimensions as the original points distributors and is entirely electronic. Additionally, it offers improved fuel efficiency.

- Significantly reduced emissions due to more efficient fuel combustion. - Quicker engine starts, particularly in low temperatures. - Users of carburetors that often flood will experience a remarkable improvement, as the spark from electronic ignition is considerably more powerful than that from traditional point systems. - Minimal upkeep required in contrast to point systems. - Spark plugs and wires last three to five times longer.

Electronic ignition systems provide significantly improved performance compared to traditional points, primarily because they enhance the combustion of unleaded fuel, which was a key factor in their development. As points degrade, the dwell time alters, leading to a substantial advance in timing. This situation increases the risk of engine detonation and can result in difficult starts and reduced efficiency. Overall, engines equipped with electronic ignition tend to have a much longer lifespan than those using points.

This listing features a set of high-performance 8.5 mm red spiral core spark plug wires. The wires come pre-assembled at both ends for small block Chevy engines from 1955 to the mid-1980s, including models 265, 287, 305, 327, 350, 383, and 400. They are designed to route under the exhaust and connect with the HEI/male distributor cap. The spiral core design offers excellent performance while minimizing interference with radios and electronic devices. These wires enhance overall engine performance.

The Bpp 350 spark plug wires consist of three layers and can handle up to 60,000 volts of high voltage ignition. With a diameter of 8.5mm, these cables offer a capacitance increase of 20% compared to standard 8mm wires. The first layer is made of EPDM, which has high dielectric strength, ensuring that the initial capacitance values prevent the high voltage from grounding through the outer jacket. A fiberglass mat is extruded over the EPDM, serving a dual purpose by significantly reducing terminal pull-off and securing the inner layer.

The initial layer of EPDM is applied to the silicone outer covering. This silicone outer layer is designed to withstand oil and wear, while also providing a temperature rating of 600 degrees. To ensure effective conductivity and high voltage current transfer from the power source to the spark plugs, stainless steel and solid brass terminals are utilized. Our ultra high temperature grey silicone spark plug boots can handle temperatures up to 800 degrees. The distributor and coil boots, which have high dielectric strength, prevent any voltage leakage.

This listing also comes with a brand new red 12-volt coil that generates 45,000 volts. The coil features a classic "Old Skool" design and is filled with oil. It's an ideal coil to pair with this electronic distributor. 8.5 mm spiral core spark plug wires enhance efficiency, provide faster throttle response, and lower emissions.

By utilizing only the best materials in our BPP350 wire sets, you can be confident that you are acquiring one of the top-quality ignition wire sets available. The gray spark plug boots are designed to endure 50 degrees more heat than regular spark plug boots!

The image displays two coil wires, but only one will be provided. Please inform us of your preferred coil wire. If we do not receive your choice, the top coil wire shown in the image, which has two 90-degree ends, will be sent. This is for those seeking spark plug wires that you can cut and crimp on your own.
